3 Innovative Draft Tips to Win Your League

1. Pick players with easy matchups in the playoffs and early in the season.
Just as in the NFL, players performing well in fantasy football playoff games lead to more championships. Playoff fantasy points are more valuable than regular season fantasy points. Make sure you draft players with the best defensive matchups during your league’s playoff weeks. Because of injuries and trades, you should also draft players that will have great early-season matchups. Our cheatsheets incorporate this strategy!
For skill players (RB, WR, or TE) the difference between playing a bottom-third defense versus a top-third defense is ~5 points. If you can get favorable matchups for all of your 7 skill players, it could mean a 35-point swing!
2. Draft Strong Quarterback Combos
While defensive matchups matter for skill players, they matter even more for QB’s. For a QB the difference between playing a bottom-third defense versus a top-third defense is ~8 points. Draft a set of QB’s that guarantees you a good defensive matchup every week. An example of a great QB combo is Tony Romo and Derek Carr. Take a look at our one-of-a-kind QB Combo Cheatsheet.
